A look back and ahead
Hi friends,
It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through 2025. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to explore some of the most breathtaking landscapes on Earth—and to share them with so many of you who joined me on this year’s photography workshops and tours.
First, a heartfelt thank you to my longtime partners, Robert Fletcher and Hunt’s Photo Education. Your support and shared vision have helped make these experiences so rewarding.
We kicked off the year with an unforgettable winter photography workshop in Iceland, where we braved snowstorms to capture moody landscapes, crawled through sapphire-blue ice caves, and stood in awed silence as the Northern Lights danced across the Arctic sky. (If Iceland is on your bucket list, keep an eye out—I'll be heading back soon!)
Later, we journeyed to the Navajo Nation and photographed the stunning red rock formations of Monument Valley. We timed our visit perfectly to witness the iconic Mitten Shadow stretching across sacred ground—a true bucket-list moment for any landscape photographer.
And twice this year, I had the privilege of leading wild horse photography workshop, where we stood in the dust, hearts pounding, cameras ready, capturing the raw power and grace of these magnificent animals as they thundered past. Dust in our teeth, awe in our hearts.
These workshops have been about more than just creating beautiful images. They’ve been about community—sharing stories, learning together, and finding those moments of stillness and wonder in wild places.
To everyone who joined me this year: thank you. Your trust, creativity, and curiosity make these journeys unforgettable.
If you're interested in joining future adventures—including upcoming workshops in Iceland, the Louisiana Bayou, and Moab/Arches/Canyonlands, you can find details on my Photography Workshops Page. I’d love to share the road with you.
Until then, be in the moment.
– Jeff
This could be you—standing in the quiet of an Icelandic night, camera on a tripod, watching the Northern Lights ripple across the sky. Vivid green and purple bands light up the snowy landscape as you capture long exposures of one of nature’s most unforgettable shows. Moments like this are what make our Iceland photography workshops so special.
Our workshop group inside one of Iceland’s stunning sapphire ice caves—an unforgettable experience exploring beneath the glacier with cameras in hand.
Wild horses stampeding toward the watering hole at sunset, bathed in a warm orange dusty glow.
Playing happily in the warm morning sun, capturing the beauty of nature’s early light and early life.
